Friday Group
AIM: To
provide Christian support for people on their own. Those who have been, or
are going through, the trauma of bereavement and divorce can be assured of
understanding support from those who have been there too and found healing
beyond the pain.
Meetings:
In addition to monthly meetings in the form of a bring and share supper in
member's homes, we also get together to attend concerts, the movies and
other functions.

Curry Supper
This is an
annual event, usually held during the winter months. It is a Parish social
event where we get together over a meal for fun and plenty of conversation.
Although it is not a fundraiser we do ask for donations and try to make some
small profit.
This is
achieved by donations of cask or kind.

St Andrew's Amblers
On the last Sunday of every month we gather in the car park, and set off for
an easy walk in Newlands Forest. The amble lasts for approximately 2 hours
and we have plenty of time to share ideas, confidences and have plenty of
fun. Anyone and their dog are welcome. The walks are advertised in the Pew
Leaflet

Shrove Tuesday Pancakes
Shrove Tuesday or otherwise known as "Pancake Supper" takes place every year
on the Tuesday evening before Ash Wednesday, the start of Lent. It came
about all those years ago because they were not allowed to eat eggs during
Lent and so by making Pancakes the evening before they could use up all of
their eggs. This is not a fund raising event but a fun and fellowship
evening in our Church, although we do have a Donation Bottle so as to try
and cover our costs. We ask for volunteers to make the pancakes and also
donations of fillings for the pancakes such as Savoury meat, Chicken,
Seafood and of course the sweet fillings as well. The children are
entertained on the lawn with pancake races and have great fun and
competition for a chocolate bar for the winner - before the start of Lent!!
We have a grand turnout every year and I do hope that if you have never been
to a Pancake Supper before at our Church you will be encouraged to come and
join in the fun. See you all on Shrove Tuesday.
