Welcome To St Andrew's Church, Newlands, Cape Town - Anglican Church of Southern Africa

  • Psalm 30:2
O LORD my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me.

Nelson Mandela Day 18 July 2010

St Andrews would like to mark this day on which we are asked to do something to help others. The plan is to provide school sandwiches to be distributed to some Senior Schools where it is known that learners come to school hungry.

Please bring a packed sandwich on the 18th (perhaps even more than one) they will be collected at all the services and Beryl Ruiters will take them to the schools.
It is hard to learn and concentrate when you are feeling hungry!

Enquiries: Beryl 021 705 0568

January 2010 MTN Report

In 2009, St Andrew’s made donations to the value of R475 280 ( not far short of half a million Rand ) and the allocation for 2010 is slightly higher.  In view of the economic climate of the year 2009, what we paid out last year was amazing and that we are hoping to have an even higher target in 2010 resounds to the credit of every parishioner who has contributed to our funds for charitable use. I think St Andrew’s has done extremely well.

Ministry To The Needy

Through the years, St Andrew’s has built up a wide range of varied outreach programmes. Our policy is to identify needs in the Cape Town area and address them with funding which is strictly monitored. Where-ever relevant, St Andrew’s tries to offer professional support by members of its congregation, as we consider that hands-on involvement is important for our understanding of the problems in society. By this process, the recipient charities realize that St Andrew’s wants to share their problems and successes and is not just dispensing money and walking away.
