Children's Church

St Andrew’s strives to establish a solid Christian foundation for children that will last their lifetime. This is achieved by providing the best possible opportunity for children to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Our vision is to build loving relationships and to lay a firm foundation of Biblical teaching in partnership with families.

We try at all times to relate to the children in our care with love, respect, compassion, understanding, empathy and authority. We believe that building loving and trusting relationships is a priority and that a nurtured child is one who is open and receptive to hearing and learning.

We believe in intergenerational worship and bonding as one large family at times. We also believe that to meet a wide range of needs it is appropriate to separate into different age groups at other times.

We thrive on love, laughter, fun and fellowship. We work hard, pray hard and trust God.

Children’s Contribution

The children of St Andrews are an integral component of the congregation. They are both accommodated and contribute in many ways to church activities. Some examples of the children’s contribution include:

  • Carrying the candles into church
  • Arranging floral posies on Mothering Sunday
  • Decorating the church for the Morning Market
  • Packing Love Packs
  • Visiting the children at Maitland Cottage hospital
