An opportunity to give
We know how tough things are financially at the moment, and though many of us want to give, we aren’t able to!
Here is the opportunity to give to our communities and spread the love of God and our church!
Ministry to the Needy (MTN) is a committee of St Andrews that does the most outstanding work among various old age and children’s homes, shelters, HIV/Aids work, health and nutrition, the handicapped and providing bursaries to previously disadvantaged and children.
It has been decided that the MTN needs to be re-organised, and we need your help in doing so!
The committee will also consist of the Rector, the Church Wardens and Treasurer.
The purpose of this arrangement is to increase the number of parishioners involved in MTN activities. YOU CAN HELP!
We hope that members of the parish who are interested in getting involved will volunteer for some aspect that appeals to them. This does require some degree of commitment because one of the most important aspects of MTN work is getting to know the people “at the other end”, so we cannot have a constantly changing group of volunteers.
The suggested divisions are as follows:
- Bursaries
- Pre-schools and Deaf School
- Mentally handicapped, Elderly and the service Dining Rooms
- Homes & Shelters
- “Delivery service” of clothes, books etc which are brought to the Church Office.
- Co-ordinator
Please contact Debbie Coombe or Bea Law through the parish secretary should you be interested.
