The Glade of Remembrance

With the Memorial Wall fully completed plaques in memory of loved ones are now being placed on the wall in the Glade.

Advent

The season of Advent will begin on Sunday 28 November. We are privileged to have imageArchbishop Thabo Makgoba
preaching and celebrating at our Advent Sunday combined service at 8.30am. It is of course also a celebration of St Andrew’s Day.

Advent is a season of preparation and looking forward. We look forward to the celebration of Christmas, the miracle of the incarnation, and we prepare ourselves to celebrate appropriately, in line with the way that Christ came into the world.

Aids Watch

From the 18th International Conference on HIV & AIDS which was held in Vienna in July with the theme “RIGHTS NOW RIGHT NOW”came both good and bad news. Two positive reports were: the number of young people newly infected with HIV has fallen by 25% in 12 of the 25 worst affected countries in the world including South Africa and the break
through results of research conducted in KwaZulu Natal on the use of a vaginal gel containing the anti-retro-viral tenofovin to protect women from contracting HIV.

Jerseys from Ballarat, Australia

The Task Team and parishioners are thrilled with these gifts which will be distributed by The Warehouse to the underprivileged sufferers on behalf of the Diocese of Cape Town. How did these generous gifts from such a distance come about?

On our return from Wimbledon and Canada we received an email from former famous Australian tennis player Judy (Tegart) Dalton, now an international commentator for Tennis Australia.
