Pancake Supper
Takes place every year on Shrove Tuesday which is the evening before Ash Wednesday, the start of Lent. It came about all those years ago because they were not allowed to eat eggs during Lent, and so by making pancakes the evening before they could use up all their eggs!
This is not a fundraising event but a great deal of fun and fellowship at our Church. We do have a Donations bottle to try and recover costs. We ask for volunteers to make the pancakes which is great fun and a wonderful way of talking to everyone who comes your way. Usually we have about 16 people making pancakes. We also ask parishioners to loan us gas bottles and donate fillings e.g. savoury, chicken, seafood, vegetarian and of course sweet! The children are entertained on the lawn with pancake races and have great fun and competition for a chocolate bar – before the start of Lent!
We have a wonderful turnout every year – so please diarise and join in the fun! See you all on Shrove Tuesday for Pancakes and a grand evening
