Parish Life

Readers

Members of the congregation who read the Lesson or Gospel, at most of our church services, play an important part in bringing the word of our Lord to our worship. Preparation of the Gospel is very important; the Gospel is Jesus’ directive to us and should be read with understanding of the meaning of His word. It is important that those wanting to be readers should have some training in this matter. At most services we have two readings; one from the Old Testament, the Epistles or St Paul’s writings, and one from the Gospel

If you would like to know more about being a reader please contact the Rector, Father Mike Keggie or our deacon, Stephen Middelkoop.

St Andrew’s Prayer Group

Prayer is at the very heart of our worship and relationship with God. A small prayer group meets once a week in the Prayer Chapel, to bring our concerns and petitions to God as well as our thanksgiving and to listen in silence. The Parish, it's activities, those who have requested prayer and those who are known to be needing special prayer, are held up to God. This meeting takes place on a Thursday at 12h00 and anyone is welcome to join.

Curry Supper

This is an annual event which continues to grow in popularity and is usually held during the winter months. It is a Parish social event where we get together over a meal for fun, entertainment and plenty of conversation. Although it is not a fundraiser we do ask for donations and try to make some small profit. This is achieved by donations of cash or kind. Please join us for an evening of fellowship-with-a-difference!
