Worship Service times?
7:30am - this service follows the South African Prayer Book and is a quieter more conservative service – prayerful and meditative. On the 1st Sunday of every month the service follows the Anglican Prayer Book.
9:00am – this service follows the Anglican Prayer Book and is family orientated. Children's’ Church runs concurrently with this service, and takes place in the Church Hall. The children and teachers all come into church to partake in the Eucharist. This service is followed by a Parish Tea (and eats!), in the hall, and all are welcome.
6:00pm or 7:00pm ( seasonal) – this service follows the Anglican Prayer Book and is mainly supported by the younger generation, singing from Songs of Fellowship accompanied by their own band. The Eucharist is celebrated on the 1st and alternate Sundays of the month.
What do the children do on Sunday mornings?
On Friday evenings a Youth Group has planned activities which are advertised on the website and in the Pew Leaflet.
The Church? The entrance to the Church is off the path leading from the Lych Gate. You will be greeted by a Sidesmen who will hand you a Pew Leaflet and other required material. It would be helpful if you could mention that this is your first visit. The Pew Leaflet contains the general order of service, including the readings, the Gospel reading, the Hymn numbers and names of the Leaders.
Most of this same information is announced by the worship leaders during the service at the appropriate times. If you aren't sure of something, just watch what those around you do! Please retain the Pew Leaflet as it contains the main contact details should you wish to make any enquiries or comments. If you wish tojoin the Church you will find a form on the pew, which you can complete and hand to the sidesmen on duty.
Where do I sit? You can sit anywhere that you feel comfortable. If the church is crowded, the sidesmen will help you find a seat.
What do I do about
Communion? All who receive Communion in their own Church are welcome to share in the Eucharistic feast. If you do not take communion you may still come up to the rail, kneel (or stand) and indicate by crossing or arms or shaking your head, that you do not take communion, and receive a blessing. You may also remain in your seat, and pray or reflect during that time.
How long will the service last? The services generally last one hour- the 9,00am service is approximately 15 minutes longer. Please feel free to mingle and meet people, sign the Visitor’s book and meet our clergy after the service! Remember that you and your children are welcome for tea in the Hall after the 9.00am service - we hope you’ll come back again soon!
